Not too long ago, a 36" wide spiral freezing system running at 50 feet per minute was considered wide and fast. But today, Cloudy & Britton, Inc. is manufacturing 54" and 60" wide spiral freezing systems that run as fast as 150 to 200 feet per minute.  The advancement in light weight plastic spiral belting with a few modifications in spiral drive techniques makes it all possible.

IQF - "Stacker" inline freezers have their place.  They fit nicely into existing footprints for replacement tunnels.  But for ease of cleaning, we know have an IQF - "Sidemount" freezer system with the coil set on top of the fans and the belt mounted off to the side (Sidemount).  Sizes range from 500 pounds per hour to 60,000 pounds per hour and up.

Cloudy & Britton, Inc. has changed how it does business. In the past, our offices sold, designed, made drawings, fabricated and installed all of our systems. Instead of maintaining expensive shop facilities and installation crews, as we did in the past, we now have metal fabricators bid against each other for the work and we hire out locally for installation crews.  Selling, designing and drafting are still done solely in our office, as they always will be.  This new method of operation has significantly reduced our overhead while still providing a superior, competitive product. It also enables us to manufacture parts and pieces close to where the customer is anywhere in the country; reducing shipping costs and shipping time, if necessary.
